Bulk Synchronise with Web Database

The "Bulk Synchronise with Web Database" option on the "Remote" menu, enables an automatic update of the web database where required and an update of the local database where approvals in the re-banding sequence have been granted.

Groups to be processed are selected by the check boxes at the top of the screen.

·      Groups already on the web database. The local and web database entries will be compared and differences noted.

·      Groups marked for inclusion in the "Return" print. All groups with the "Return?" box checked on the local database will be compared to the remote database.

·      Groups with status "Live". All groups in the local database with the "Live" in the "Status" column will be compared to the remote database.

The buttons at the bottom of the screen are used to start processing. It is possible to :

·      Report changes but make no changes to either database

·      Update but do not produce a report

·      Report changes and update

The report has a row for each group and the following columns:

Group

The site, speciality and name of the group.

Pattern

Key aspects of the pattern definition on local and web database are compared. Average hours of duty and work, New Deal compliance, band etc. If there are any differences, "Changed" appears in this column.

Diary Cards

Key aspects of the diary card analysis on local and web database are compared. Average hours of duty and work, New Deal compliance, band etc. If there are any differences, "Changed" appears in this column.

Other items

Items such as the group name are compared, but the most important here is the approval status. If they are different, both the local and web values are printed. If the group is only on the local database, then "Not on web database" appears here.

Update Actions

When an "Update" button is used, the following happens:

·      If the group is not on the web database, it is placed there but with no request for re-banding.

·      If the web database is different to the local database, it is updated so the two are synchronised.

·      If the an approval  has been granted on the web database, the local database is updated accordingly.
