The main screen acts as a central point for control and administration of the whole system. Most of the actual work (such as defining work patterns and entering diary cards) is done on subsidiary screens called from the main screen.
The Work Groups List
A table of work groups with brief details occupies most of the screen. The table to the right of this shows a list of doctors that have been entered as members of the currently selected work group.
Filters
When first loaded, the main screen shows a list of all the work groups stored in the DRS database. This may be too large a list to work with conveniently, so a filter option is provided to reduce the list. For example, if at the moment, you are looking at work groups in a single speciality, select that speciality from the pull down list in the filters section and click the "Apply" button. The "Clear Filters" button re-displays the full list of work groups and clears all the filter entry boxes.
Sorting
The normal sequence in which work groups are displayed is speciality then work group name. This can be changed by clicking on the heading of the column to be used to sort the table. For example, clicking on the column heading "Grade" will sort the table by grade, speciality and group name. Clicking on "Speciality" will return the table to the standard sequence.
A second click on the header of an already sorted column will reverse the sort order.
Splitting the Data Grid
It may be convenient to split the grid of group data into two or more sections to allow columns of interest to be visible at the same time. This can be done using the "splitter bar" which is the small vertical black line in the bottom left hand corner of the grid. Use the mouse to drag this to the right. The grid will be split into two identical copies, both of which can be scrolled horizontally to bring the required columns into view.
The split can be removed by dragging the splitter bar for the second copy of the grid back to the splitter bar of the original grid.
A third (or fourth) split can be created by repeating the process with the original splitter bar.
View
The "View" menu at the top of the screen allows some control over what is displayed in the table.
· Database - the normal setting.
· Sample Work Patterns - some rules compliant patterns in current use are displayed as examples. These can be added to as required so that a reference library of patterns can be constructed.
· Current file - work patterns loaded from file are displayed. See Saving work patterns to file
· Web Database (available only if the PC is connected to the Internet and the web database link has been configured under the "Supervisor" menu). Groups on a remote Internet connected database are displayed.
· Show trust - click this to display the Trust for the work patterns
· Show site - click this to show the sites for the work patterns
Go
The "Go" button allows the user to select a work group based on a unique numeric code (the DRS ID). This code number is allocated when a group is transferred to the web database. Simply enter the code number in the box provided and click the "Go" button.
Selecting One or More Work Groups
Normally the work group to used is selected by simply clicking on it (a double click will take you to the work pattern screen for that group). For some tasks it is necessary or convenient to select a number of groups to be processed. This is done as follows:
· Click on the record selector column for the first group (the far left column, where a small right arrow appears). The row will be highlighted in blue.
· Select a range of groups. Hold down the Shift key and click on the last group in the sequence of groups. The block of groups between this and the first will be highlighted in blue.
· OR select extra individual groups. Hold down the Control key (Ctrl) and click on the record selector for the additional group.
The selection can be cleared by clicking anywhere on the table.
Actions that use selected groups
The following normally work with only the currently highlighted work group. If a number of groups are selected, they will all be processed.
· Delete work groups.
· Print an analysis of work groups.
· Print analysis with re-banding confirmation
· Save work group details to file.
· Email details of work groups.
· Paste a previously copied work pattern to a number of work groups.
· Toggle the "Return Print" flag
· Remove the "Return Print flag.
· Change the work group status (Live, Dead, or Test)
The following normally print all the work groups or all those selected by a filter action. If a number of groups are selected, only those will be printed.
· Summary print
· Return print
Menus and the Toolbar
