The Normal Week Input Screen

This screen allows input of the work group's standard working week. The duties defined here will be assumed to be worked unless a specific duty or leave is specified (entered via the work pattern input screen).

The duty start time, duty end time, and rest for the day must be specified for each day. The "Copy Monday Hours" button is provided to speed entry when all days are the same. Enter the times for Monday and click this button to copy them to the rest of the days.

The New Deal defines a normal working day as 9:00 to 17:00. If there is work outside these hours there is normally an entitlement to rest that is a proportion of these hours. It is possible that local practice has established a normal working day that is not 9:00 to 17:00 (e.g. 8:30 to 16:30). This can be entered and will not cause any anomalies in the calculations because the normal week is assumed to never need any specific rest allocation. The Standard Working Week should not be used to enter any days that differ greatly from the 9:00 to 17:00 standard, even if they are worked every week in the work pattern. They should be entered as specific duties via "click on" with a "Rpt (Wks)" factor of one. See Placing Duties in the Work Pattern. Then the rest requirement for the day will be calculated correctly.
